Flexible tensor for arch, vault and dome reinforcement
The system consists of installing a flexible tensor in the arch's intrados (vault or dome) intermittently through nails hung at a certain distance.
Construction with soil CEB (Compressed earth blocks)
Solutions based on construction with CEB (compressed earth blocks) and masonry structure development knowledge. From Vault Zafra they have developed scale models that are perfectly applicable to any part of the world.
The CEB constructed strictly from soil and mechanical compression do not require any extra energy source for their creation. The holding mortar is made with the same soil as the blocks. For these reasons Vault Zafra has developed a solution that provides that ability to construct in any location in the world that only uses soil.
Construction with light, low density materials
We are working on the possibility to use light materials, like cellular glass and particle board, to construct timbrel vaults. These materials are low cost and are made in boards that are cut into small bricks. They can be installed together using lime mortar or plaster. The timbrel vaults can be constructed safely using these materials because they are self sufficient.
Masonry structure calculation software (CARYBO)
Over the last 20 years Vault Zafra has developed its own software called CARYBO. This software is the fruit of accumulated study and knowledge. It is developed specifically to calculate masonry structures with a plastic behavior based on the principles of Limit State or Jacques Heyman's Theory.
Hydraulic lime mortars
Development of a hydraulic lime mortar with the Italian multinational company KIMIA. The product called “BVD” of the tectoria line. Mortar specifically created for vault repares to use similar properties to brick making from the point of view of resistance, shrinkage, density and chemical composition (absence of tricalcium silicate).
Ecological mortar for vault reinforcement
Ecological mortar focused on use in the construction field with the primary application of serving as a reinforcement material in vault rehabilitation. Development in collaboration with Universidad de Extremadura.
Ecological cork mortar
High deformation resistant, anti brittle fracture mortar for masonry construction, in collaboration with Universidad de Extremadura
